You want easy evidence of how left wingers have moved further left??
With some humorous entertainment mixed in?
Some streaming services offer access to TV shows from the past. Amazon Prime may offer the most options in this area. For a while Prime included a remastered version of the original Star Trek series from the 1960s (You can pay extra and still get it now.), they’ve got Barney Miller starting in 1975, they’ve got Baywatch remastered starting in 1989, and they’ve got many others. One series that I caught many episodes of when it first aired was Boston Legal, which started in 2004. I’ve been binge watching it lately.
I’m not sure when it was added to Prime, but all 5 seasons of Boston Legal are now available, and the video quality appears to be full high definition with some rare exceptions. (They probably either used actual film for the original run or they had early versions of high def video cameras to record the show even in 2004 for season 1. Within just a couple years high def digital video cameras and high def TVs were much more common.) Like most network TV shows going all the way back into the 1970s and getting worse over time, Boston Legal obviously had a hard core left wing team of writers and directors who did everything they could to support left wing narratives when creating the show.
Ironically and necessarily, the show probably has no chance of getting past the first season without the comedy added by William Shatner’s “Denny Crane” character, as well as his and James Spader’s (“Alan Shore”) interactions and very, very, non PC antics and blatant sexual harassment that permeate every single episode. Shatner’s Denny Crane is the republican character, and in typical left wing La La Land fashion he is portrayed as a buffoon. Much like Archie Bunker was portrayed back in the 1970s, yet the absurdly inaccurate buffoon portrayal still mostly backfires on the left even decades later. “Meathead” Rob Reiner still looked pathetic and brain dead in All In The Family, just like Rob Reiner in person is a pathetic brain dead liberal.
James Spader is the key character in the show spouting all the left wing lines (And feel free to fast forward those for the most part as you won’t miss much in many cases.), yet his character is essentially just as bad as William Shatner’s is when it comes to his sexual comments and advances towards the women in the show.
Watch some episodes and tell me if any left wing TV show creators would even try anything like this now without the character being a supposed hard core republican and without him being immediately punished severely. It would almost certainly only be a guest star role where the character is briefly brought in just to make an example if him and support the “me too” narrative, and then that character is never heard from again. (Granted, The Office was a bit more recent because it had a longer run, and got into some non PC stuff and was also funny.)
I stopped watching network TV years ago because it was mostly a combination of a complete sewer and an endless stream of left wing dogma, and the comedies were mostly not even funny. (If you’re going to be raunchy in shows that are supposed to be comedies you need to be funny.) If you know Boston Legal already you know it is raunchy enough that you wonder how it made it past the censors. So TV has gone downhill filth wise even versus Boston Legal, and it’s degraded in other ways. The last network show I was watching was Survivor, but at some point the pathetic, weak, and freak players that the show very obviously deliberately sought out to push left wing deviancy made it completely unwatchable too. But I digress, again.
It always helps to be familiar with a TV show and its characters to get the full effect, but if you don’t want to spend much time watching Boston Legal to get my point of how left wingers have moved further left, skip right straight to season 3 episode 2, and compare what you see there to the full on lunacy we have now with respect to treatment of mentally ill men who pretend to be women.
That episode features an obese black man dressed in drag, and he comes into the law firm because he has been fired for his female impersonation antics. I put in a link in the picture that may or may not work for you if you do not have Prime already:
The first thing to note is that in this episode, which was recorded in the summer of 2006, is that there is NO use of the false term ”transgender”. Unless I’m remembering it wrong, the obese black man is even properly referred to as a transvestite at least once.
You’ll also notice that the man is often referred to as “he” even by the attorneys. And you’ll note that James Spader and Constance Zimmer (a newly added female attorney character), in a discussion with the business owner who fired the man, start pretending that they are drawing up a big lawsuit against the man, but then they immediately stop when that business owner says the will hire the obese transvestite man back if he will just stop using the women’s restroom.
The owner does not even say that the transvestite must stop dressing in drag, he just does not want the tranny using the women’s restroom. And in spite of all the left wing causes that James Spader has done extended rants on in the courtroom, and in his interactions with William Shatner, there is NO resistance from Spader’s character to the idea that a large transvestite man does not belong in a women’s restroom. Try and find any hard core left winger taking that position now.
On top of everything else, James Spader and Constance Zimmer go to the transvestite’s apartment later in the show (and in the evening in the story line) to tell him that he will be rehired if he will stay out of the women’s room, and lo and behold he comes to the door as a man, with no drag attire at all. The 3 characters have a discussion, and the message is clear that the man dresses up as woman because he’s not confident in some ways as a man. There is no claim that he has actually “transitioned” or “transcended” or whatever the hell that “trans” prefix in front of the word “gender” is supposed to represent now.
There is at least one episode in the first 2 seasons where the term “global warming” is used as well. There may be 2 episodes, but you do NOT hear the term “climate change” used, because even though that term was coined sometime in 2004 (If I’m not mistaken.) it had not yet caught on and replaced the well know “global warming”. Yet now “global warming” is almost never used by left wingers at all. They know that term becomes very problematic when they’re trying to blame an arctic blast “bomb cyclone” with its bitter cold on “existential crisis” level man made warming.
If you’re a Prime subscriber already based on the convenience and cost savings that Amazon offers (In spite of the fact it’s owned by a big time left winger and it has other issues.), by all means check out that episode of Boston Legal, and maybe some more of them as well. In general, the non PC humor more than overcomes the ridiculous left wing messaging that they constantly throw in. And there’s always that handy fast forward feature too to bypass the leftist messaging.
Watch that episode and then tell me if you see how much farther left, and how much farther into insanity things have moved.
