Use the Yandex search engine for anything with any political aspect, plus a handy educational bonus at the end
It's quite a sorry situation that a Russian search engine actually helps you avoid all kinds of propaganda.
Almost every subscriber reader here knows Google is very, VERY, left wing, and is biasing all results it gives very heavily and hiding anything that is counter to left wing narratives. Most of you probably wisely avoid it whenever possible. Google’s bias has been very well documented by none other than a hard core Hillary Clinton supporter named Robert Epstein. Epstein has given many interviews and has also testified before congress on the issue. Note that Robert is no relation to the guy who didn’t kill himself with the same last name.
Here is one of the more recent stories, with the link in the picture:
Here’s an interview he did more than 4 years ago on the subject, and as just about always here in the Stack clicking the picture takes you to the link. It’s just slightly over 3 minutes and he talks about his research proving Google’s bias, so well worth your time:
Here is Epstein’s testimony before the Senate Judiciary subcommittee in July of 2019:
The key thing to note is that Epstein is not just regurgitating talking points nor is he simply giving opinions. He does actual research on what search results Google returns, and then quantifies the net effect of those heavily biased search results on voting patterns.
In another post I previously recommended the Metager search engine, which is based in Germany. To be honest I have not looked back to see if I have already covered some of the same material above in that post, but in any event there are many new subscribers here so I might as well include it again. At this point I’m changing my recommendation. I saw evidence that Metager’s results were being corrupted as well, and then there are the ever expanding fascist European dictates against “disinformation”, which really means that you must spout their left wing propaganda or else.
Whatever you think of Russia and the guy who leads that country, there are no such dictates requiring that the left wing narratives from Western Europe and/or the U.S. be followed. And amazingly, you will find search results that are almost completely free of left wing shill “fact check” sites. You know you get a bunch of those with every Google or Bing search for any topic which makes the left look bad, and you’ll get them with Duck Duck Go as well. I don’t know how many pages deep you have to go to get the content you are actually searching for, but I do know it rarely appears on the first page, and often does not appear for many pages.
Rather than just tell you about this bias, I can show you before you go and try it for yourself. I was countering someone pushing the Corona “vaccines” death jabs and wanted to find the Cleveland Clinic study that showed the more jabs you have, the more likely you are to get Corona, get hospitalized due to Corona, and in fact die of Corona. (I haven’t written much about the “vaccines” {and that word must ALWAYS be in quotes for the Corona versions} because they have been covered so thoroughly elsewhere, but the super abbreviated story is that they have not saved a single life and have only harmed and killed people.) So I searched for the study on Duck Duck Go for starters.
I didn’t find what I was looking for, so I added the name “Alex Berenson” to the search because I knew he had covered the study when it came out. So you would think one of the first three results, if not the very first result, would be to Alex Berenson’s Substack or his Twitter (now X) where he talked about the study. If you thought that, you would be wrong. Here is the first page of results from Duck Duck Go:
The first link is for an old statement from mid 2021 that is 100% irrelevant. The second link is a “fact check” from a lying left wing propaganda site. The third link is for something talking about Berenson referencing a different study. The fourth link actually mentions the study but if I recall right you cannot get to the study from it. The fifth link is also from 2021 and irrelevant. The 6th and 7th links are more false “fact checks” denying the results of the study.
Now let’s look at the Yandex results using the exact same search phrase:
At least 3 of those links deal with the final version of the study I was looking for. At least one refers to the early version of the study results. All of the rest appropriately cover the danger of the “vaccines”, and there are ZERO fact check sites.
For your own even easier test, just type in the word “Climategate”, and try Yandex versus any of the prominent search engines. See how far down into the results you have to go to find a link to the actual content of the leaked emails and other material, and count the number of “fact checks” and various deflections you have see before you get there.
Using Yandex just now, the 6th result gets you to a searchable pdf that includes explanations of the content as well as individual links to each email, with no redactions that I could see. As always, go and read or watch the actual content, and never listen to some left winger telling you what to think.
Here was an MSNBC segment over 6 and a half years ago where Mika Brzezinski let it slip out. None of the other panelists batted an eye after that either.
Yes I found this with Yandex, and look at how spot on the results are even though I used the word “believe” instead of “think”:
