Matt Taibbi has done great work with the Twitter Files, and in my case it’s important to note that he is not a Conservative, nor is he even on the right. (At least that’s my understanding of his politics, but I can’t speak for how many more bits of the red pill he’s taken lately.) He’s just a guy doing actual journalism regardless of his politics. It is still possible even for democrats, even if very rare.
Based on some specific Twitter Files releases on “Hamilton 68” and the falsely claimed “Russian election interference” on Twitter, Matt and Matt set out to document the number of false media reports and then see if they could get retractions/corrections on those false reports. Here’s part of Matt Taibbi’s post about how that went, with my bold:
Maybe we could convince other reporters and editors to make the corrections ahead of time. How big of a job could that be?
Too big, as it turned out. Once humorously obsessive Matt Orfalea got going on the project, he quickly fell into a funk. He started just by looking just for video clips of broadcast or cable outlets referencing Hamilton 68, and immediately started racking up ridiculous numbers.
By all means read Taibbi’s post as it’s quite good but I’m not going to quote more of it here. The video he includes there is also found on YouTube, and it is a must watch. Even if you just watch the first few minutes. The picture below showing Randy Maddow in all his/her/whatever glory contains the link:
While the video focuses just on the “Russian bots” lies on MSNBC only, I’ve seen this video before in various ways on dozens of topics over the past 5 decades.
I used to read it in print too. I started reading the newspaper almost front to back in the 1970s. I saw 60 Minutes back in the 1970s too, and I closely followed coverage of the 1976 election campaign and I’ve followed every one since then. I saw CNN when it first came on the air. I also remember the “Satellite News Channel” which was very short lived. It ended when CNN’s owner bought the satellite transponder space it used. Ted Turner didn’t want any competition for CNN. (And he didn’t have any real competition in the cable news space until Fox News launched in 1996.)
In my senior year in high school I took a class caller “Current World Affairs”, which focused on global news. One day a week we had a news knowledge competition with one half the class against the other half. On my side I had another well read guy and a big time sports fan, and my side won pretty much every contest. Even with a limit that we could only answer 2 questions in a row, the 3 of us still accounted for the bulk of the points for our team.
One week a couple of the key players on the other side of the class had already seen the questions in a prior class, so the teacher of course ruled that those 2 or 3 people would be unable to join, and asked the class how we should proceed so everyone else still got to play. I immediately said I would take those 2 other knowledgeable guys normally on my side and go against the entire rest of the class, as long as the 2 questions in a row rule was gone. So it was us 3 against 20 or so, and we crushed them. I digress a bit, maybe, but my point is I knew the news and I knew the facts going way back.
I’ve also read articles in thousands of magazines over the years. I used to go into a store that carried hundreds of different magazines each month and I would read stories in many of them before I would buy 1 or 2 when I left. I continued reading the newspaper into the mid 1990s, until I moved to a town where the newspaper was simply a liberal rag. I would still check it out now and then, but it was the same story and so was the left wing TV “news”. So many false claims you couldn’t keep track even if it was your full time job, coupled with key stories not even covered since they were damaging to left wing narratives.
So when I watch the video linked above, it’s just one tiny example. You can repeat that over and over and over with many different topics that show horrible left wing media bias and blatant lying.
You can just look at Randy Maddow again lying about the “vaccines”.
There are compilations out there of multiple people saying this in early 2021, including Fauci and Walensky, but I could not find them even with several search phrase variations and using different search engines. These videos are being buried by left wingers even on Metager which I recommended in the past. But you can still find numerous “fact checks” claiming the “vaccines” do work, even the “fact checks” from just over 2 years ago when many liars were still claiming just what Randy Maddow claims.
As of now literally everyone should know that the jabs do NOT stop infection, they do not stop spread, they do not stop hospitalization, and they do not stop death, but there will be plenty of people who do not know any of the above. Even many of those who know about how the jabs do not stop infection or spread will still not know that they don’t stop people from dying, and of course they won’t know about the evidence that people jabbed are worse off across the board, even if the horrid side effects are not considered.
So watch the compilation video about the “Russian bots”, watch at least a bit of the later one that includes commentary on the lies, and then consider that there are some people who only watch MSNBC as their course of “news”. Ponder for a few minutes how incredibly misinformed those people are, and that they have to be incredibly misinformed to even consume that garbage.
I will say that at this point in time, and for some years now, Joseph McCarthy has been more than exonerated. He was 100% correct about how numerous leftists/communists had infiltrated various institutions in this country. He should not have been included in a video documenting left wing lies as though he was also a liar.
