A left wing PhD documents how Google is biased hard left, and why I recommend the Metager search engine over it and over anything else.
Metager doesn't track you, and is the best I have seen at delivering non biased results. Read on for a good test of search engine bias.
If you’re not an ignorant left winger, you know that Google is extremely evil and their search results are left wing garbage. Anything that can possibly be slanted, Google will slant left to very hard left. They will hide or basically bury truthful sites pages deep in their results list, and place the most left wing crap at the top. And they will even make autocomplete suggestions that are horribly biased. Bing, Yahoo, and other left wing tech sites are somewhat less evil.
If you doubt this, a Hillary Clinton supporting democrat no less, with a PhD from Harvard and a team of 33 people, monitored left wing big tech in 2020 to see what they were doing. PJ Media reported on this back in late November 2020. In addition to the excerpts below, the embedded Google internal video at the link from after Trump won in 2016 is a MUST watch. It shows the heads of Google having a whine fest over the 2016 election, and pledging to do everything they could to stop Trump and people like him from ever getting elected in the future.
Tech expert and researcher for the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology Dr. Robert Epstein told Tucker Carlson on his Fox News program that Google manipulated search and other data, including using voting reminders, to manipulate the results of the 2020 election.
The Harvard Ph.D. and his 33-member research team watched tech giants Google, Yahoo, YouTube, Bing, and Facebook in three swing states—Arizona, North Carolina, and Florida—during the 2020 election. The former Psychology Today editor said his team “preserved 500,000 ephemeral experiences,” which he says are those short, quick bursts of information or experiences that disappear within seconds. He described “ephemeral experiences” in a 2019 interview and said how important it is to catch them in real-time.
Here’s what Google did.
“Google’s search results were strongly biased in favor of liberals and democrats. This was not true on Bing or Yahoo. The bias was being shown to pretty much every demographic group we looked at, including conservatives. In fact, conservatives got slightly more liberal bias in their search results than liberals did. How do you account for that? […] These manipulations that we’ve so far quantified could easily have shifted at least six million votes in one direction. That’s the bare minimum at this point that I’m confident of. The maximum we haven’t even begun to estimate because we have so much data to look at.”
He says his team caught Google in the act and described what he called “a smoking gun.”
“Then we found what seems to be a smoking gun. We found a period of days when a vote reminder on Google’s home page was being sent only to liberals. Not one of our conservative field agents received a vote reminder during those days. The good news is on that fourth day that we were monitoring, we went public with some of our findings and Google backed off. They literally shut off that manipulation that night, and so for four days before the election they were showing vote reminders to everyone finally.”
PJ Media had another article on this topic just prior to the 2020 election, again talking to the same Harvard PhD Robert Epstein. And again no relation to the Epstein that didn’t kill himself.
While I would not conclude there is that much difference between Google and the other left wing search engines, Epstein is clearly correct that Google is worse. If you use Google as your only “search engine” you are getting constant left wing propaganda and other false information.
What’s really interesting is that Google sucks really hard in other searches as well. While their results have improved in the few years since I first tried the search, try using “rectangular downlight chandelier”. Now my expectation is that Google, supposedly the pre-eminent aggregator of information on the planet and employing thousands of brilliant people (BA HA HA HA HA!!!), is only going to show me lights that hang down from the ceiling, with the bulbs in a rectangle shape, and the lights aim down mostly if not completely. If you thought this too boy would you be wrong. Here’s what I just got:
As you can see, the first row even includes an item with uplights. Later rows include more uplights, round lights, and other odd inclusions. Even the first row models with 5 exposed standard bulbs in a line with their bases up are not actually rectangular. They have a decorative frame in a rectangle, but that’s not something good to light a rectangular table. They’re not really downlights either, as the exposed bulbs will throw light 360 degrees around the light fixture and even upward. Some of the more ornate models with all the crystal are rectangular, but with various bulb locations and all that reflective glass they are also going to spread light everywhere too.
Now it is probably true that there are not that many options for downlights with shades that are rectangular, but why is the supposedly best search engine in the world so pathetic at limiting the results to those that are at least close??? This particular search is not the only one by any means where you don’t get very few or no useful results either. There are many others.
Like most people, I don’t want to be tracked online nor do I want biased search results. A good while ago I started using DuckDuckGo based on their claimed commitment to privacy and recommendations from non left wingers. I was quickly disappointed that the content of the results was not much different from Google or Bing. Here recently I heard a suggestion that I had not heard before called Metager. I can tell you without a doubt that so far, Metager is truly delivering different and non biased results.
My go to test on any search site is to type in “Climategate” and see what I get. If you do this on Google the entire first page of site results will be left wing deflectors and propagandists that essentially do everything they can to keep you from looking at the actual Climategate material. This only serves to reinforce ignorance, and of course left wingers need to hide the Climategate material because it destroys the global warming scam narrative. Many other websites can also destroy that false narrative, but the Climategate material comes right from the global warming scammers mouths, and it’s damning as hell.
Since DuckDuckGo just idiotically decided to jump on the censorship bandwagon, all the more reason to go elsewhere. Metager mostly pulls results from Bing, but it does NOT use Bing’s ordering of those results. So when you search for “Climategate” with Metager, the first page of results you get includes links to factual sites and to the material itself, and it will include some left wing propaganda sites as well. All in all, far better than any other search tool I have tried.
I make no claims on Metager’s ability to find the elusive rectangular downlight that I’m looking for. I don’t know if Metager will maintain its current model either, but for now it’s the way to go.
